Centaur: A Type Specimen
Centaur: A Type Specimen book dives deeper into the history of Centaur as a typeface while bringing light to the unethical practices of Museums and Art theft around the world. Some typefaces, such as Centaur, are not as popular or very dated in the modern usage of design. The challenge is to highlight Centaur while simultaneously bringing awareness to a modern issue that ties back into the typeface. Centaur was originally the house typeface exclusively made for the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York, so it was made with purpose and with location. It has a home - but artifacts housed in these great museums (British Museum, The MET) are stolen from their own home. They are lost and their purpose was taken away from them.
